The Scholars

Meet Our Scholars

The Scholars are promising, young candidates of tertiary background who have been selected based on their; Demonstrated leadership qualities, Communication skills, Initiative, Enthusiasm Integrity, and Familiarity with critical national and global issues.

To become a Scholar is to go through a series of selection processes handled by reputable and credible personalities. Often, when leadership is mentioned, “most people focus on political leadership and assume that is what it is about”. KSP, guided by H.E. John A. Kufuor’s dreams has a broader definition for effective leadership and the [selected] Scholars are persons who meet the expectations of effective leadership as broadly defined by the KSP.

As indicated in his inaugural speech, Professor Baffour Agyeman-Duah, CEO of the John A. Kufuor Foundation, minced no words saying, “we hope that should any of our scholars become a judge, he/she will be a judge who will not trade justice for money. Should any become a politician, he/she will not be blinded by greed or ethnocentrism, but always place the nation first. Should any become a “Man of God,” he/she will not mislead and exploit the vulnerable in society“.

Accordingly, Professor Agyemang-Duah explains that the Scholar, as sought for and groomed by the KSP underscores, “the need for sincere, honest and committed leadership in our countryThe need for leaders with integrity is real and urgent and we hope the Kufuor Scholars Program will greatly contribute to this effort“.

The Scholarsare an investment towards better and greater hopes for Ghana and Africa at large.
