Kufuor Scholar Wins Civil Service Award

Kufuor Scholar Edem Kojo Doe has been honoured with the outstanding achievement award (professional category) at the 2020 Ghana Civil Service Awards ceremony.

Mr. Doe who is works with the Parks and Gardens Department as Assistant Horticulture Officer at the Peduase Lodge was awarded for his distinguished professionalism and hard work in the civil service.

Mr. Doe who is a member of the Kufuor Scholars Program Class of 2019 expressed gratitude to former President John Kufuor, the John A. Kufuor Foundation and the Kufuor Scholars Program for the support in getting the award.

“Thank you to my colleagues. Your time, energy and resources, as well as that of the John A. Kufuor Foundation is appreciated. I can’t overemphasise the fact that KSP played a critical role in my success as a professional,” Mr. Doe said after picking up the award.

Mr. Doe has more than a decade’s experience in environmental landscaping as a civil servant with the department. In addition, he is the Co-Founder and Executive Secretary of Lukdem Consult, a non-governmental agency focused on peace and environmental advocacy.

He is passionate about using horticulture as a tool for attaining green cities for eco-efficiency in Ghana. He is a member of the Ghana Institute of Horticulturists. He is also author of the book; “Critical Thinking in the 21st Century.”
